A long 4x4 jeep drive up the Braldu valley to Askole, the last inhabited village before the mountains.

19.8 km, 6–7 hrs. Along the river, crossing the Dumordo, to the forested camp of Paiyu.
An acclimatisation day with an optional ridge hike before stepping onto the Baltoro glacier.

6.4 km, 4–6 hrs. Climb to the meadow camp of Urdukas, facing the Trango and Cathedral spires.
11.9 km, 6–8 hrs. A full day on the open Baltoro, ringed by giants on every side.
11.7 km, 5–7 hrs. Arrive at the throne room of the mountain gods — first full view of K2.
20 km round trip, 10–12 hrs. The long, unforgettable day to base camp and back.
