Upon landing, we will embark on a drive to Hunza, passing through stunning landscapes and historic villages. Guests will check into a hotel in Karimabad, the heart of Hunza, and spend the evening exploring Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, and the local bazaars.

  • Early morning 4WD Jeep ride to Shimshal (4–5 hrs) via rugged mountain roads
  • Explore Shimshal village & interact with locals

  • Overnight stay in a guesthouse

The trek officially begins as we leave Shimshal and head towards Zarthgurben, following the Shimshal River through a rugged and beautiful landscape. The trail gradually ascends, offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks and high-altitude meadows. After approximately six to seven hours of trekking, we will reach our campsite at Zarthgurben, where we will set up tents and enjoy a hearty meal under a starlit sky.

The journey continues towards Mingling Sar Base Camp, where the landscape becomes more challenging with steeper ascents and glacial terrain. As we gain altitude, the air becomes thinner, making it essential to maintain a steady pace. After arriving at the base camp, we will set up tents and rest, surrounded by towering peaks. A short acclimatization walk will help the body adjust to the high altitude.

To prepare for the summit push, we will dedicate this day to acclimatization and basic climbing skills training. Our experienced mountain guides will provide instructions on using ice axes, crampons, and rope techniques, ensuring that everyone is confident and ready for the ascent. A short hike around the base camp will further aid acclimatization, followed by a relaxing evening at camp.

The most anticipated day of the expedition begins early in the morning, usually around 1 AM. Equipped with headlamps and full gear, we will make our way up Mingling Sar, traversing a mix of snowfields, ice slopes, and rocky sections. The climb is demanding but rewarding, offering unparalleled panoramic views of the Karakoram peaks from the summit. After celebrating our achievement, we will carefully descend back to Base Camp, where a warm meal and well-earned rest await.

With the summit conquered, we will begin our descent towards Zarthgurben, retracing our steps through glacial valleys and rocky ridges. The journey is easier on the way down, and we will take breaks to absorb the incredible scenery. Upon reaching the campsite, a celebratory dinner will be prepared to mark the successful climb.

The final day of trekking takes us back to Shimshal Village, where warm hospitality and a sense of accomplishment await. In the evening, a special farewell dinner with the local community will be arranged, featuring traditional Wakhi music and dance. This is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the journey and celebrate with our guides and porters.

Leaving Shimshal, we will take a 4WD jeep ride back to Hunza, where guests can relax and unwind. The afternoon is free for exploration, and optional visits include Eagle’s Nest for a breathtaking sunset view, a stroll through local handicraft shops, or a coffee break at a scenic café overlooking Rakaposhi.

In the morning, we will drive to Gilgit Airport for a flight back to Islamabad. If the flight is canceled due to weather, we will drive via the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and stay overnight in Chilas. Guests who reach Islamabad by flight will have the day free for relaxation.

This extra day serves as a buffer in case of travel delays. If everything goes as planned, we will use this day for additional sightseeing in Islamabad, visiting places like Taxila Museum, Saidpur Village, or hiking the Margalla Hills.

To wrap up the adventure, guests will enjoy a full-day city tour of Islamabad, covering major attractions such as Rawalpindi’s Raja Bazaar, Daman-e-Koh viewpoint, and Blue Area’s shopping district. In the evening, a grand farewell dinner will be hosted at one of the best restaurants in Islamabad, offering a mix of traditional and continental cuisine.

On the final day, guests will be transferred to Islamabad International Airport for their departure flights. Our team will assist with airport formalities, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey home.
